I've had tons of horrible mosquito bites, and I know how annoying it can be to hear everyone tell you not to scratch at them, when all you want to do is go at them with your nails or a hairbrush. But just remember that all that advice is actually correct - scratching your bug bites will just make them inflamed and feel worse. Luckily, there are some ways to make the bites feel a whole lot better - without taking a hairbrush to them.

The most important thing to do is NOT TO SCRATCH.
Once you start, you'll find it's harder to stop. So if you can help yourself, once you realize what that annoying itch on your ankle is, keep your hands off.
If the itching is just too much, there are a few things you can try. First, take an ice cube and apply it to the bite.
This should calm the area and make it much more bearable.
If that still doesn't work, have your parents pick up some anti-itch cream at the drugstore.
Applying this can take care of a really bad itch.
If your itch is really awful, or if the bug bite looks like it's getting abnormally inflamed, tell an adult. You might have an allergy that should be looked at.
